The Madison Flute Club began in the summer of 2002 as an adult extension class at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The class continued into the spring but was canceled when the instructor moved to Italy to be married.
The flute choir continued to meet weekly at the home of one of the members. Through advertising, performances, and word of mouth, the group soon outgrew the living room space. With almost 30 members, the flute choir now rehearses weekly year-round at the Bethany United Methodist Church.
The Madison Flute Club is a registered non-profit education, 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization and a member of the National Flute Association.
